In Gordes, Iconic House presents its first art exhibition, echoing its artist residency.
News

Last autumn, Iconic House welcomed seven artists in residence at its property, Les Hauts de Gordes, staying true to its commitment to supporting artistic creation. From April 4 to 10, 2025, in collaboration with the Municipality of Gordes, Iconic House is organizing RÉSONANCES—an exhibition showcasing the work of the seven artists from our first residency.
Gordes has always embraced creative souls. Marc Chagall, Victor Vasarely, and André Lhote, among others, have drawn inspiration from its timeless beauty.
At the heart of the Luberon, within the Chapel that stands on the village’s main square, RÉSONANCES unveils the work of emerging artists who have found inspiration in the very essence of this region. This exhibition is a reflection of an artistic journey born from a residency held last autumn at the Iconic House hotel property, Les Hauts de Gordes. Each creation initiates a dialogue, evoking multiple layers of resonance.
The past, heritage, nature, stone, and the light of Gordes and its surroundings echo through the images, shapes, colors, and materials explored by the artists. RÉSONANCES embodies both the imprint of the territory on their work and the inner vibration of their creations, balancing memory and introspection.
Organized by Iconic House in collaboration with the Municipality of Gordes, this exhibition pays tribute to the region and to the property that welcomed the artists in residence—a living space where art and hospitality intertwine. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a creative universe that is both deeply felt and firmly rooted in place.

THE ARTISTS
VICTOR CADENE - Victor Cadene, a multi-talented decorative artist, creates two-dimensional decorative scenes from drawings that he cuts up and assembles into collages. More than the precision of the line, it is the spontaneity of the composition that he seeks and the emotion of colour that is essential to his work. A profusion of details enliven his works, reflecting his interest in the decorative arts in the broadest sense.
BÉRÉNICE GENTIL - With a degree in architecture, Bérénice loves designing spaces for movement. She travels between architecture, design, art and ceramics. Following in the footsteps of futuristic novels, science fiction films and fantasy comedies, she draws her inspiration mainly from classical art. Her sculptural works are enriched by narratives that amplify their scope.
MARTINET & TEXEREAU - Martinet & Texereau is a collective of two artists. Their practice focuses mainly on drawing. Their drawings create an ever-expanding repertoire of objects, places and architectures. Using simple means, they aim to encourage the viewer to take a fresh look at the simple things in life, those that by habit are no longer looked at and are often poorly considered.
ALEXANDRE ONIMUS - Alexandre Onimus is a photographic artist based in Paris. He develops his taste for images through photography, which ranges from documentary shots (of know-how, architecture and lifestyle) to prints on a variety of media. His work, which is both poetic and subtle, explores the relationship between the body, nature and the sensibility of the environment.
ALEXANDRA WILLIS - Alexandra Willis is a French-English artist based in Paris, with a degree from the Beaux-Arts de Paris and an MA in Chemistry from Oxford University. Her interdisciplinary background in the sciences and the arts profoundly enriches her practice. She explores various techniques to examine the complex relationship between humanity and its environment. Her works offer spaces for contemplation that capture the ephemeral and imperfect beauty of nature, while embracing the sadness of its inherent decay.
ETIENNE BOULANGER & AIDEM - The creative duo of dancer Aidem and director Etienne have distinguished themselves by collaborating on both personal and commercial projects, the success of which is based on a demanding aesthetic. Together, they modernise forgotten classics of French chanson through dance videos in sequence. Their work is characterised by great attention to the sets and choreographed movements, creating immersive and captivating performances.
