Iconic Life

The Online Magazine to know all about Iconic House

Iconic House organises its very first artists' residency in “Les Hauts de Gordes” property in autumn 2024.

Since its launch and the opening of its first house in Les Baux-de-Provence in 2022, Iconic House has always sought to promote and support contemporary artistic creation.

The passion for art of Thibaud Elzière and Robin Michel, the co-founding brothers, permeates the four Iconic House "Maisons hôtelières", whose histories and identities are shaped by the vision of artists and designers. To date, almost 150 works of art have found their way into the various Houses in the Collection, and over twenty artistic collaborations have been made.

As part of its commitment to arts, Iconic House will be opening an artists' residency in its “Hauts de Gordes” home in autumn 2024. 7 artists (drawing, painting, sculpture, video, photography, dance, literature, poetry, music, film, fashion, etc.) will be invited to come and create a work or any other artistic creation on the theme of their choice, during a 10-day residency from 12 to 22 November 2024.

Candidates can now send their applications by email to art@iconic.house (conditions below). The deadline for applications is midnight 24 July 2024 and the official announcement of the 7 winners will take place on 10 September 2024.

The choice of the village of Gordes for this first residence is particularly symbolic. The village owes part of its aura to the many artists who have graced it in the past, and it has long been a source of creativity for artists. Vasarely, Marc Chagall, Jean Deyrolle, Serge Poliakoff... many have been inspired by its landscape, its view and its unique light.

At the end of the residency, each resident artist may, if they wish, donate to Iconic House an artistic work produced on site. The works will then be added to the Iconic House collections and exhibited in each of the properties, as a souvenir of their visit to the Hauts de Gordes.
