Is Italy putting France in a good mood?

Since its launch, the range of Weeks Off homes has grown in France. There are now more than 120 houses. ‘But we couldn't help looking at what was happening elsewhere,’ admits Robin Michel, co-founder. As one of France's leading holiday destinations (and a firm favourite with the team), Italy quickly emerged as the first candidate for a Mediterranean ‘special edition’. Three months of investigation resulted in a list of 22 properties across Italy, unveiled at the end of September. What's next? ‘Very probably Spain, Portugal, Greece and Croatia...’.

Tuscany, Capri, Sicily... yes, but not only that!

‘It's a deliberately non-exhaustive selection, but diverse and sometimes surprising,’ Thibaud Elzière, Robin's brother and co-founder, tells us.

After (re)falling under the spell of 4 properties in Tuscany - including a XVIᵉ century fortress on the island of Capraia - we discover mirror houses, almost invisible in the heart of the Dolomites, a dammusi estate in Pantelleria, that magnificent island off the coast of Tunis. Back to basics, Sicily surprises us with an eco-villa designed by local architects. Sardinia from north to south, and Capri... Is it (already) over?
