Drawn by its light and mineral beauty, generations of artists, from Chagall to Vasarely, found inspiration in Gordes. Guided by the notions of illusion, movement and perception central to optical and kinetic art, the property unfolds as an artistic journey of its own, both indoors and throughout the gardens. Conceived alongside curator Joséphine Fossey, the collection brings together around forty contemporary works, including several monumental pieces created especially for the house.

Interior architect and founder of design house Midi, Jérémie du Chaffaut develops an approach deeply rooted in his native Provence and its artisanal traditions. Inspired by local heritage, natural materials and Southern decorative arts, he envisioned Les Hauts de Gordes as a warm and luminous retreat, balancing Provençal simplicity, bespoke furnishings and conviviality.

For several years, Joséphine Fossey has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning creative direction, interior architecture and curation. She creates places where art, design and experience form a coherent and deeply sensitive whole. She curated the artistic programme alongside Thibaud Elzière and Robin Michel.

Gaultier Rimbault-Joffard's work sits at the crossroads of drawing, architecture and sculpture. Shaped by materials, light and furniture, his practice combines spontaneity with graphic poetry.

For Les Hauts de Gordes, he designed the property's entrance gate, conceived as an invitation into the house's artistic journey through light and optical illusion.

Based in Porto, French artist Victor Marqué develops an instinctive practice centred on drawing, geometry and totemic forms. Balancing architecture, rhythm and materiality, his works explore a subtle dialogue between symmetry and imperfection. For the house, he created a painting and a series of bespoke sculptures with striking mineral forms.
