about
In Courchevel 1550, within the preserved hamlet of Les Brigues, the chalet reinterprets the art of mountain living. Conceived as a retreat for those in the know, it combines modernist influences, a discreet tribute to Charlotte Perriand and Alpine craftsmanship within a warm setting overlooking the peaks of the Vanoise. Horizontal lines, abundant natural light, expansive windows and a spirit of conviviality create a freer, more elegant vision of the mountains.

We came to Courchevel for a few months. We found one of the most meaningful chapters of our family life.

The destination
Courchevel, another perspective
At the heart of the Alps, Courchevel has established itself as one of the world's great ski destinations. Since the 1920s, skiers have come in search of its exceptional terrain and the sense of freedom found only in vast Alpine landscapes.
Beyond its celebrated reputation, Courchevel reveals a quieter side. Preserved hamlets, welcoming mountain refuges and long ski-touring excursions offer a different perspective, far removed from clichés and expectations.

Design & art
Off-Piste
Inspired by the spirit of off-piste exploration, the collection of art and furniture combines local craftsmanship, bespoke pieces and references to Alpine modernism. Solid wood, raw steel, graphic textiles and geometric forms create a warm yet bold interior inspired by adventure, open landscapes and a freer vision of mountain living.
Interior Designer : Atelier Giffon
Art Curation : Joséphine Fossey
Atelier Giffon designed the interiors of Chalet Le 1550 with a sensitive and exacting approach to decoration. Specialising in high-end residential projects, the studio creates spaces where materials, proportions and details come together to shape interiors that are warm, refined and thoughtfully designed for everyday life.
For several years, Joséphine Fossey has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning creative direction, interior architecture and curation. For Chalet Le 1550, she oversaw the artistic curation, furniture and textiles alongside Thibaud Elzière and Robin Michel, imagining a sensitive universe shaped by Alpine modernism, craftsmanship and graphic influences.
French-Swedish designer Patrick Kim-Gustafson trained in Philippe Starck's studio before establishing his own woodworking atelier near Paris. His sculptural practice centres on solid wood and traditional craftsmanship. For Chalet Le 1550, he created a carved oak console, conceived as a poetic evocation of nature and the mountains from the moment guests enter the chalet.
Graphic designer and artist based in Paris, Géraldine Roussel develops a practice inspired by form, colour and modernist architecture. For Chalet Le 1550, she conceived an in-situ mural transforming the kitchen ceilings into an abstract geometric composition, imagined as a natural extension of the chalet's interior world.
